Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city experienced heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were preparing for more assaults.
